Faqs

Frequently Asked Questions

Our maxillofacial imaging interpretation service is designed to support dentists with accurate insights and expert analysis. Below are some common questions to help you understand how our service can benefit your practice.

Why do I need a CBCT interpreted?

CBCT scans provide 3D insights essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, but they also reveal complex anatomy, subtle pathologies, and incidental findings that require expert analysis. The American Dental Association (ADA) emphasizes, “CBCT imaging should be interpreted by a dentist with appropriate training or by a maxillofacial radiologist to ensure accurate diagnosis and minimize patient risk”. The Dentists must decide whether to self-interpret and risk missing critical details or refer to radiology specialists who can uncover hidden complexities, reduce liability, and optimize patient outcomes

What are the services that Precision Radiology Reads offers?

We offer the interpretation of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans and 2D images, such as intraoral radiographs, panoramic radiographs, and lateral cephalometric radiographs.

How can this service help my practice

With the help of our interpretations, we can aid in the detection of critical findings in clear, actionable reports, helping you to detect subtle pathologies with confidence, optimize treatment plans through interdisciplinary insights, and enhance patient care by bridging the gap between imaging and evidence-based care.

Who review the images

Our licensed and highly experienced maxillofacial and medical radiologists review the images that are sent in. At Precision Radiology Reads, you have the option to have your reports either read by just the Maxillofacial Radiologist, or both Maxillofacial and Medical Radiologists.

Does Precision Radiology reads provide interpretation of complex cases?
